Thumbprints & Walled Flowers is a hand-spun and handwoven mohair tapestry created by the women artisans of Frances v.H. Mohair, a studio founded by artist Frances van Hasselt in South Africa's Karoo region. Working with mohair sourced from the van Hasselt family's historic angora goat farm, the tapestry tells a story of origin—of the delicate Karoo ecosystem that sustains the fiber, and of the skilled hands that transform it. Each unique tapestry is a dialogue between artist, maker, and material. As the weaver responds to the subtle variations in texture and character of the yarn, a narrative emerges: collective yet deeply personal, woven into form with intuition and care.
