Wooden bench from the Corrugated Collection by Hanneke Lourens. The rippling shapes in the joinery are inspired by the urban landscapes of South Africa - a place where shimmering corrugated metal sheets catch the eye almost everywhere you look. Challenging preconceptions of this common building material, the collection reimagines the use of corrugated iron, turning it into cherishable design objects. The squared seats topping the bench create a lightness, playfully revealing beams that connect the legs underneath. From above, the corrugations reveal a satisfying squiggle.

With a foundation in traditional woodworking, Hanneke is fascinated by the permanence of wood, the precision it demands, and the creativity it can deliver. Each chair is handmade to order in Hanneke's studio on the West Coast.
