The Moor Chair by Xandre Kriel is a sculptural lounge chair fabricated from 8mm shipping steel, brass and mooring rope. The design is inspired by Kriel's observations at Cape Town harbor’s east pier, where giant ships are guided to rest in the shipping lanes. Similarly, the chair is an object to 'moor' people, and invites a relaxed pose and quiet contemplation. The Moor chair is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
