The Lotus Lamp by Duchenne Studio is a elegant mahogany table lamp inspired by the sacred blue lotus, South Africa’s indigenous water lily. Each lamp is turned, hand-sanded, oiled, and polished to a soft sheen. As with all of Duchenne Studio's work, the lamp is assembled by hand—infused with Jean Duchenne's reverence for wood and craftsmanship. Natural variations and imperfections in the timber are embraced, making each lamp subtly unique. The lamp’s form echoes the slender form of the African blue lotus, a flower rich in spiritual symbolism, mythology, and beauty. Tall and poised, it evokes still waters and sacred spaces—blending botanical inspiration with a sculptural, timeless presence.
The Niger lamp comes as standard with a raffia or linen shade. Custom shades available on request. Please email sales@kombi.nyc to specify your choice of lampshade.
