The Heritage Lamp 02 by Duchenne Studio is a hand-turned wooden lamp inspired by vessels of African heritage. Crafted in sustainable Basswood, each lamp is shaped on the lathe, then hand-sanded and oiled by master woodturner Jean Duchenne. Slight variations and natural imperfections in the timber are embraced, making each piece subtly unique. Referencing the artistry of traditional clay pots, the Heritage Lamp pays homage to an important African material culture, and carries a quiet reverence for craft and memory. With a deep love for timber and turning, Duchenne honors legacy through touch, weight, and form.
