'Held in Space' Mohair rug by Frances van Hasselt, hand spun and handwoven in the Karoo, South Africa. Raised on an historic mohair farm, van Hasselt has a deep affinity for this luxurious textile - her designs and sustainable processes are informed by the slow, natural rhythm of her desert environment. Van Hasselt collaborates with local women artisans in rural communities to weave the rugs; each is slightly unique in weave and yarn.
The rug pictured is 3'-6" x 5'-8" and available. Custom designs and dimensions are available at $90 per sq. foot.

Do not use warm water or steam-clean as heat may cause the colours to run. Loose fibres are common in handmade carpets and may be carefully trimmed using scissors. Carpets are hand-dyed and colours may fade over time due to sunlight exposure. The carpets are reversible and it is advisable to turn them over ever so often.
