The Adorn Lamp by Duchenne Studio is a sculptural wooden lamp inspired by the rich traditions of African beadwork and adornment. Each ‘bead’ is individually hand-turned from carefully selected timbers including Ash, Basswood and Walnut, then polished to evoke the luster of precious jewels. Drawing from centuries of ornamentation, the Adorn Lamp pays homage to the jewelers and craftspeople whose intricate beadwork symbolized beauty, power and status. Glimpses of brass reference the luminous metalwork found across Africa, adding a gleaming contrast to the warmth of the wood. The Adorn lamp is celebration of identity, craft, and cultural memory—reimagined through light.
